Most cases take between 6 and 18 months. Minor alignment issues can be corrected in as little as 6 months. More complex bite cases may take longer. Dr. Sung gives you a personalized estimate at your consultation based on your specific case.
You may feel mild pressure for a day or two when switching to a new set of aligners. This is normal and means your teeth are moving as planned. It is significantly less discomfort than the wire tightening adjustments required with traditional braces.
Remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than plain water. Food and drinks can stain the aligners and trap bacteria against your teeth. Put them back in immediately after.
20 to 22 hours per day minimum. The only time they should be out is when eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. Consistent wear is the single biggest factor in staying on schedule.
